According to data published on the official Telegram website, 2,810,095 groups and channels have been blocked from the application since the beginning of November, and on Thursday, November 13 alone, 519,645 groups and channels were blocked from the application, which is the highest number recorded for the number of channels and groups removed from the application in one day since last February. As of February 5, 490,433 groups and channels were also removed.

The data also indicates that since the beginning of 2025, more than 34 million 913 thousand channels and groups have been removed on the app, including 207,772 channels and groups linked to terrorism.

Telegram reported that since 2015, the monitoring process has included user complaints and machine learning-based monitoring, and that in early 2024, these efforts were enhanced with artificial intelligence-based monitoring tools.
