Sudden dismissal of junior national team coach

The Yemeni Football Federation suddenly fired the national youth team coach, captain Qais Muhammad Saleh.

Captain D. was fired. Qais was appointed by Al-Ittihad’s emergency committee and named captain Samer Fadel as its new technical director.

The dismissal has raised many questions in the sports community, especially as the national team prepares to take on important official duties.

The team continues its camp in Lawdar, Abyan Governorate, in preparation for the inaugural Junior Gulf Cup in Doha (September 20 – October 3, 2025).

The team plays in the first group with Qatar, the Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman.

It is also preparing to participate in the Asian qualifiers in Kyrgyzstan (November 22-30, 2025) in Group 2 with Laos, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, Guam and Pakistan.
