Jurists and intellectuals believe that the decision of the High Judicial Council of Aden regarding the bans and restrictions imposed on judges and members of the judiciary aims to silence the students of the Higher Judicial Institute and the judges who are in solidarity with them.
This decision came after students of the 24th class insisted on continuing their general strike to demand their rights.

Members of the 24th group began their general strike in mid-November 2024 after leading four demonstrations to demand their rights to receive their salaries and all financial rights of the group suspended for a year.
The Supreme Judicial Council has refused to disburse the financial rights of the lot since its acceptance in December 2023.
While the students of the promotion refused to lift their strike and insisted that the strike would not be lifted until their fees had been paid, the Supreme Judicial Council issued its decision on Sunday, December 16, 2024, which was seen as a measure aimed at silencing the judges and intimidating the striking students.
Despite the publication of the decision of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, the members of the 24th promotion insist on continuing their strike.
The decision prohibits judges and members of the judiciary from publishing, participating and commenting on websites and social networks on anything related to public affairs and political and social events. Threatening anyone who rapes him, strict action would be taken against him.
The decision prohibits judges from attending events such as conferences, seminars and workshops held in the country and abroad that have no relation to the judiciary.
It also prohibits any judge from “interfering with his opinion or in any manner whatsoever in matters pending before the judiciary, decisions rendered by him or other judges, or notifications or investigations undertaken by the public prosecutor in any of the cases pending before him.”
The decision confirmed that violation of the ban will result in disciplinary responsibilities in accordance with the applicable judicial authority law and relevant decisions of the Supreme Judicial Council.
