Saudi Arabia wins Gulf Youth Cup after beating Yemen in final

The Saudi youth team (under 20) won the 2025 Gulf Youth Cup title, after their victory, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, over their Yemeni counterpart, 3-1, in the final match organized in the Saudi city of Abha.

The Saudi team took an early lead with a goal through Abdulaziz Al-Shammari in the seventh minute, before adding the second goal from the penalty spot in the 13th minute, continuing their first-half superiority.

The Yemeni team responded by aiming to narrow the gap through Mukhtar Muwaffaq in the 37th minute, ending the first half with Saudi Arabia leading 2-1.

In the second half, Fares Bin Salem added the third goal for the Saudi national team after a powerful shot inside the penalty area, deciding the match in favor of his team.

Saudi control continued even though the team finished the match with ten players, so the match ended with Saudi Arabia winning 3–1.

The victory is the culmination of a successful run by the Saudi team throughout the tournament, having recorded four wins and one draw, including victories against Yemen and Qatar in the first round and a draw against Kuwait, then a victory against Iraq in the semi-final before facing Yemen in the final.
