In a majestic setting and a great international presence, Egypt inaugurated the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum in the world which tells the story of seven thousand years of human glory.

After thirty years of waiting and decades of dreams, this unique building stands at the tip of the pyramids, testifying to the genius of the Pharaohs and the ability of the Egyptians to embody history in stone and light.

An event worthy of the greatness of civilization

In the presence of 18 heads of state, 8 prime ministers and more than 40 high-level delegations, Cairo celebrated the opening, which it called “Egypt’s gift to the world” and a message of hope and renewal in an era full of conflict.

From an idea to a contemporary legend

The idea for the museum began 30 years ago and was interrupted during the events of 2011, but it was revived under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi in 2014, transforming into a global monument combining science, culture and tourism, and depicting the characteristics of a new cultural renaissance for Egypt.

And within its walls, which embrace the shadow of the Great Pyramid, thousands of objects vibrate with the spirit of the Pharaohs… as if history itself had returned to speak of the heart of Giza to the whole world:

This is Egypt… and here the story begins again.
