Ambiguity surrounds fate of Muscat detainee talks and fears they could fail

Mystery still surrounds the fate of ongoing discussions between Yemeni parties in Muscat regarding the detainee file, amid reports of disagreements over statements submitted by the parties.
Informed sources report that the negotiations aim to reach an agreement according to the principle of “all for all”. However, the lists submitted by the parties contain names whose owners are missing during the fighting and who are not present in the detention centers, making it impossible to reach an agreement, despite the passage of a week since the start of the talks.
Press sources say that a week of negotiations has not resulted in any rapprochement, due to disagreements over many names, expressing fear that the differences that emerged could lead to the failure of the negotiations.
