Al-Ashari: Looking for solutions and thinking outside the box means preparing for bloodier wars
Yemen
Yamanat
Mr. Ahmed Al-Ashari – a member of the General Committee – believed that many of the conspiracies targeting the conference over the past decade and a half were caused by its stance of embracing and defending Yemeni unity, in addition to its support for the Palestinian cause.
Al-Ashari said there is no indication that Yemen will manage to overcome its crises in the short term.
He said: The obstacles to achieving comprehensive peace are numerous and have multiple sources, including “the illegitimate authoritarian ambition of the parties to the conflict, their dependence on foreign countries, regional and international interventions, the existing competition between countries in the region and the settling of their own scores on the Yemeni scene through their local tools which live with the illusion of promises and the arrogance of power.”
He stressed the impossibility of achieving stability and peace without “unity, freedom, political, cultural and social pluralism, democracy, peaceful transfer of power through direct and free ballot boxes, decentralization (local government), social justice, national partnership, development, equality, human rights and the rule of the constitution and law.”
He stressed that seeking solutions and ways out of these facts means “preparing for bloodier wars, national fragmentation, continued social disintegration, endless popular suffering and overwhelming, crushing and horrible national loss, without honor or survival for anyone.” Until the end…

*What is your reading of the current Yemeni scene and what is preventing global peace from being achieved?
The current Yemeni situation is miserable and gloomy on many levels, and has reached an unbearable and unbearable level, and there is no indication that it will be overcome in the short term. The obstacles to achieving comprehensive peace are numerous and have multiple sources, the most important of which is the illegitimate authoritarian ambition of the parties to the conflict and the struggle, which is not based on any constitutional and legal legitimacy, popular satisfaction and acceptance, dependence on the outside, regional and international interventions, existing competition between the countries of the region and the settling of their own scores on the Yemeni scene through their local tools which keep alive the illusion of promises and the arrogance of power, and the belief of each party in its ability to control Yemen and govern it alone, ignoring the facts of reality and history which indicate the impossibility for any party to fully control a Yemen unified by force and govern alone without a broad national partnership, and the impossibility of governing and achieving stability and peace without unity, freedom, political, cultural and social pluralism, democracy, peaceful transfer of power through direct and free ballot boxes, decentralization (local government), social justice, national partnership, development, equality, human rights and sovereignty. Constitution and law, with friendly relations with the environment and mutual respect based on cooperation, sovereignty, independence, non-interference in internal affairs and the common interests of all; This situation and principle also applies to Yemen’s relations with various countries in the world, especially major countries, which have a direct and indirect relationship with the events that the country has witnessed for fourteen years. Unfortunately, these facts are absent from our minds, intentionally or not, and it will be impossible to look for solutions and ways out. It will be impossible to achieve peace and stability, restore the Yemeni state throughout its national territory and overcome the effects of a devastating war. We must prepare for bloodier wars, national fragmentation, continued social disintegration, and endless popular suffering and loss. A crushing, oppressive and horrible homeland, with no honor or survival for anyone.
*What is your assessment of the conference’s positions in terms of defending unity as well as supporting the Palestinian cause?
– The positions of the Conference regarding unity and the Palestinian question are principles, firm and always honorable, on which it was founded and for which it fought and is fighting, and for which it has made and continues to make enormous sacrifices. The conspiracies to which the Conference was exposed and are exposed and which have targeted its existence for around fifteen years were solely due to its positions on these two central existential questions which the Conference considers to be its major issues which are at the top of all its national, national and humanitarian priorities.
*Seven years since Sheikh Sadiq bin Amin Abu Ras took over as president of the conference. What is your assessment of the scene?
A difficult step in all respects and a tough test for a great national conference leader who was able to lead the conference amidst high waves and violent storms, bring it to safety and maintain the presence, unity and appropriate political presence of the conference in relation to the difficult and bitter circumstances.
*Some believe that the conference’s preoccupation with national issues led to a decline in its interest in organizational aspects. What is your comment?
– The Conference was founded and exists for the sake of national issues, and all its concerns, interests and efforts are focused on national issues and the interests of the people, and these alone constitute its permanent and continuous guideline from its founding until today. Its focus on organizational aspects is nothing other than reforming the mechanisms and adjusting their course for and for them, and this was under normal circumstances, but in the light of the living national catastrophe, the concern of the conference was entirely focused on rescuing the nation from its fate. This is the case for other parties and groups considered to be in power. National resources and capabilities are a right and private property that are not shared with anyone and nothing is taken from them for development, social services, popular interests and humanitarian needs of society. The General People’s Congress, by its composition and nature, is a civil, programmatic and democratic party and not an ideological and dogmatic party with strong organizational influence and centralized leadership like the rest of the parties.
* What are the most important challenges facing the conference during the current period?
– Internal and external conspiracies targeting our organization, its unity and its existence, many of which have been overcome during the past period thanks to the leadership, wisdom, patience and firmness of the struggling leader Sadiq Abu Ras, the enthusiasm of the senior and middle leaders, the cohesion of the broad organizational base and its firmness in the face of conspiracies and challenges and its inability to submit and give in to intimidation and temptation and attempts to sow doubt and intimidation and to sow discord and discord. the ranks and divide the unity of the institutional entity of the conference… and here I can only address myself. With thanks, greetings and respect to every conference and every member of the conference who is steadfast in the principle, line, speech, direction and slogan of the conference, and does not deviate from any of them under pressure, temptation, seduction and coercion.
*How do you see the future of the conference in light of current data?
– The independent is invited to the conference because experiences and reality have proven that he is the most worthy, the most capable, the one who is most loyal to the interests of the people and the nation, and that he is the lifeboat of the nation, capable of shouldering national responsibility and preserving the security, safety and interests of everyone. He is the only one to accept the other and to coexist with him, and there is no national security without him.
*Plans to target our organization are still underway. Why the conference?
– To be the stumbling block to the implementation of the external dismemberment plans that target the land and people of Yemen, and to be the owner of the broad popular base and the bearer of Yemeni principles, goals, hopes and aspirations, and to be the owner of development and service achievements and the owner of the main and central role in the unification of Yemen, the creator of stability and the builder of the modern Yemeni state, the bearer of the national political project global, the summary of the thought of the Yemeni nation and the title of its identity. (the National Charter), the State party and the political organization. It is capable of managing state affairs and emerged from the bosom of the Yemeni nation, neither eastern, nor western, nor northern, nor southern. He has not imported any national thought, theory or mechanism of action from outside Yemen’s borders, and he represents the hopes of the Yemeni people and is a source of confidence.
