Sanaa.. Specialized criminal court sentences journalist Al-Mayahi to prison and prevents him from writing

Today, Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Sanaa Municipality Specialized Criminal Court decided that journalist Muhammad Dabwan Al-Mayahi be sentenced to one and a half years in prison.

According to two lawyers; I obliged The Al-Mayahi court issued a written undertaking and a guarantee of five million riyals if he returned to “commit these acts”.

Lawyer Ammar Ali Yassin said: “Unfortunately, the Specialized Criminal Court issued a judgment convicting journalist Muhammad Al-Mayahi and punishing him with one and a half years of imprisonment.

The court issued its decision on Al-Mayahi after the third session, in which only two sessions took place.

Security forces arrested Al-Mayahi, amid his journalistic writings critical of the authorities, on September 20, 2024.
