Sanaa.. Specialized criminal court sentences nearly 20 defendants in espionage case to death and prison

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, the Specialized Criminal Court of the Capital Secretariat handed down the death sentence, imprisonment and acquittal of more than 20 defendants in the espionage case announced by the Ministry of the Interior two weeks ago.

The judgment ruled that 17 defendants were executed by firing squad in a public square, two defendants were imprisoned and two others were acquitted.

Persons facing the death penalty are:Imad Shaye Ezz Al-Din, Ali Muthanna Nasser, Abdul Rahman Adel Dhamran, Dhaifallah Saleh, Ali Ahmed Ahmed, Farouk Ali Hazam, Bashir Ali Mahdi Saifan, Khaled Qasim Al-Saeedi, Anas Ahmed Salman, Mujahid Muhammad Ali Rajeh, Ali Ali Ahmed, Hammoud Hassan Hammoud, Majdi Muhammad Hassan, Nayef Yassin Abdullah, Bassem Hussein Saleh, Sinan Abdulaziz Ali Saleh, Nasser Ali Al-Shaiba “fugitives from the front”. The decision also ordered that Hoda Ali Nasser be imprisoned for 10 years and Bakil Abdullah Ali for 3 years, while the decision stipulated the acquittal of Elias Farouk Ali Rajeh and Ali Ali Mutahhar.

On November 8, the Interior Ministry in Sanaa announced the seizure of a spy network it said was linked to a joint operations room abroad.
