The Sanaa Government’s Supreme Authority for Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies has issued an official circular ordering the suspension of use and withdrawal of two pharmaceutical preparations from the local market, based on technical observations and reports of license violations.

The circular included two main decisions:

— Discontinuation of the use of the pharmaceutical preparation (DICLOFENAC AKOS) belonging to the agent “Gal Pharma”, due to a noticeable change in the color of the ampoules, which requires its immediate discontinuation to ensure patient safety.

— Stop using all brands of the agent “Al Haditha Medical Company”, based on reports received by the Authority that other products belonging to the agent are still circulating in the pharmaceutical market without obtaining a license or prior approval from the Authority.

The authority stressed the need for all relevant authorities, pharmacies and hospitals to commit to implementing the decision to immediately stop and withdraw the above-mentioned items in order to ensure the safety and security of medicines in the Yemeni market.
