Leader of the transition: we have things in common with Israel
YNP/Special –
The Israel Broadcasting Authority revealed that Israel had received a request from the Yemen Transitional Council to support the creation of a state in southern Yemen, with Aden as its capital.
Israeli authorities cited a source they described as a diplomat within the transition leadership as saying cooperation with Tel Aviv would strengthen the two sides’ common agenda, such as protecting international shipping lanes in the Gulf of Aden and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, combating Iranian arms smuggling to the Houthis and combating terrorism practiced by the Muslim Brotherhood, which cooperates with the Houthis, in its words.
The head of the Transitional Council justified his request for Israeli support under the pretext of developing multiple fronts in the military, security and economic sectors of the new state he seeks to establish, saying that the enemies of peace and stability are the common enemies of Israel and the State of South Yemen.
