Dr. Mubarak renewed his demand to quickly provide PCR testing devices, in light of continued promises to provide them by the Hadi government’s Ministry of Health, which have not happened to date.

Text of dialogues

* Are there any real cases in Al-Mahra governorate?

– Yes, there are confirmed cases of Corona virus infection, and the examination was confirmed by sending samples to the central laboratory in Aden as well as the laboratory in Hadhramaut. I am surprised by what some Al-Mahra intellectuals and media professionals are posting on social media, who do not realize the extent of the danger this virus represents.

I confirm that there are imported cases in Al-Mahra and there is fear of what is coming, which is why it is necessary to prevent the trafficking of people and their entry into the governorate, because this constitutes a real threat to society.

* What measures were taken in Al-Mahra governorate during the last period?

The local authority and the emergency committee chaired by the governor of the governorate, Mr. Muhammad Ali Yasser, made several decisions, including a partial ban during the month of May, which was modified after the end of Ramadan, in addition to closing land crossings and monitoring them with strict procedures.

During this period, we will isolate certain areas and strict measures will be taken in certain areas to limit the spread of the Corona virus.

* Which entities support the work of the Health and Population Office in Al-Mahra Governorate during the Corona pandemic?

I confirm that the Al-Mahra Health and Population Office has continued thanks to the unlimited support provided by the local authority leadership and the Governor of Al-Mahra Governorate, Muhammad Ali Yasser, since the beginning of the Corona pandemic crisis and the appearance of the first case, in addition to the support provided by the Ministry of Health and Population, which is essentially important logistical support for us.

We are also very pleased with the support given by the Al-Mahra Peaceful Sit-in Committee, whether earlier or later, as it confirms the importance of the community’s role and solidarity against this pandemic.

* What obstacles do you encounter in the work of the Health and Population Office in Al-Mahra?

The most important obstacle currently is our need for PCR testing devices, for which we appeal to the Ministry of Health and Population of the Hadi government, and despite repeated promises, the arrival of the device has been significantly delayed, and I call on them to accelerate the provision of this device in order to find out the causes of the spread of fevers in Al-Mahra Governorate. Certainly, we fear the reappearance and spread of the epidemic in Al-Mahra, as it spread in Aden. Through you, I appeal to the government, the Ministry of Health and our brothers in the Sultanate of Oman to try to provide Corona virus testing devices.

* What are the roles assigned to you within the Health Office to deal with the Corona virus?

The roles and tasks carried out by the Health and Population Office include raising awareness among citizens, including monitoring points of entry. We must not forget the role of security authorities and local authorities in contributing and supporting the implementation of the tasks of the Health Bureau.

* How does the Health Office supervise and what is its role in the different land and sea ports?

Some centers and units have been opened in land ports, including Damagh and Luqim ports, as well as the main ports of Shehn and Hof and Nishtun port.

* Can you explain to us some details of the support provided to the Health Office since the start of the Corona pandemic, except from the government or our brothers?

The main support we receive from the local authority and the governor, Mr. Muhammad Ali Yasser, who worked to open an open budget for the Health and Population Office, in addition to the support provided by the Ministry of Health and Population.

The brothers of the Sultanate of Oman have also extended their support to the health establishments and we thank them very much for their stance.

* What is the level of coordination between the Office of Health and Population and the brothers and sisters of the Sultanate of Oman?

– Coordination exists between us and our brothers in the Sultanate through the Health and Population Office of the Dhofar Governorate or the Omani Humanitarian Authority, or through the consultations provided by Dr. Khalid Al-Mushaykhi. Without our brothers, many things are difficult for us to accomplish and are currently difficult to accomplish, especially with the Corona pandemic.

As for the support aspect, the brothers of the Sultanate provided an ambulance, and the Omani Authority fully adopted the rural hospital in Hawf and Shihn districts in all aspects except the payment of salaries of the center workers or supporting the center with medicines or the training and qualification of health personnel, as well as the Hawf Rural Hospital. Full coordination continues with our Omani brothers.

*A word addressed to fellow citizens?

We call on our fellow citizens to respect the curfew at the governorate level, and we urge them to exercise caution and caution, particularly at various land crossings. I also call on everyone to cooperate and communicate with the Health and Population Office in the event of an outbreak of fever in any of the regions of Mahra through (611360).
