Taiz: Attack on young man with special needs in Sabr police station
Yemen
Yamanat – Taiz
A young man with special needs was attacked by a police officer in Jabal Sabar, Taiz Governorate, southwest Yemen.
Human rights activists reported that the young man, Abdullah Abdul Hamid Saif, was summoned to the Al-Aqroud police station, south of the town of Al-Misrakh, but that the station’s soldier, Assem Suwaidan, attacked him, causing him multiple bodily injuries.
The sources denounced the incident by asking the following question: have police stations gone from a place intended to protect citizens to a place intended to attack them? We call on the Taiz governorate police to hold the attacker accountable and take dissuasive legal measures against him.
