Taiz… A brother attacks his lawyer sister after she pleaded in a case concerning him

A lawyer in the city of Taiz, in southwestern Yemen, was brutally attacked by her brother while she was pleading in the murder case of her sister’s son, according to activists on social media.

The sources indicated that the lawyer, Amira Amin Al-Shaibani, was beaten in her apartment, resulting in fractures to several parts of her body.

According to information circulating, her brother, named Sami, allegedly attacked her inside his house, on the sixth floor of the building where she lives.

Her sister, Amal Al-Shaibani, reportedly said that the motives for the attack were due to the victim’s follow-up of the file in the murder case of Ahmed Abdul Salam Al-Jabri – her sister’s son – which led to the issuance of an indictment against those involved after years of follow-up, before the unfolding of the case revealed a link between her brother and the crime, prompting him to attack her, according to the rumor circulating.

Activists expressed solidarity with the lawyer, calling on the Taiz Bar Association and security authorities to take the necessary measures to arrest the attacker and ensure the protection of victims in cases of domestic violence and attacks related to human and legal work.
