Yemen on course to qualify for 2027 Asian Cup after sweeping Brunei

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the Yemeni national team achieved a historic victory over the Brunei national team, with a score of 9-0, in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

The team’s goals were scored by: Abdul-Wasi Al-Matari (two goals), Ayman Al-Hajri, Imad Mansour, Muhammad Al-Dahhi, Bassam Tarboush (two goals), Akram Al-Warafi and Omar Al-Dahhi.

With this victory, the Yemeni team now has 8 points at the top of the group, bringing it closer to qualifying for the continental final.

The match took place at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait, as part of the qualifiers for the 2027 Asian Cup final scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia.
