The Spanish national team qualified for the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, after drawing against their Turkish guest (2-2) in the match which brought them together on Tuesday evening, November 18, 2025, in the final round of the qualifiers.
Spanish player Dani Olmo opened the scoring for the “Matadors” very early, just four minutes after the starting whistle.
The visitors responded with two consecutive goals thanks to players Deniz Gul and Salih Ozdecan within two minutes (42, 55) against Al-Ratib.
Spanish striker Mikel Oyarzabal equalized for the hosts in the 62nd minute of the match.
The Spanish team, champion of the 2010 World Cup, increased its score after this victory to 16 points, at the top of group E, thus qualifying directly for the 2026 World Cup.
While the Turkish national team settled for second place with 13 points, it will therefore be forced to participate in the European qualifying round for the World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico in the summer of 2026.
