The official spokesperson of the Southern Transitional Council, Anwar Al-Tamimi, revealed that agreements had been reached with the Saudi-Emirati delegation stipulating non-escalation in Hadramawt and Al-Mahra governorates in eastern Yemen, stressing that the atmosphere of the discussions was characterized by positivity and realism.

Al-Tamimi explained that the meetings discussed a number of ideas related to the ground conditions in the two governorates, noting that the Arab coalition delegation returned to consult its leaders on what was presented during these meetings.

Al-Tamimi denied the validity of what some Saudi media reported on the existence of an agreement demanding the withdrawal of Transitional Council forces from Hadhramawt and Al-Mahra, stressing that the discussions focused on the general principles of calm and sought to reach meeting points that would help stabilize the situation.

He added that the question of maintaining forces in Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra is subject to operational evaluations on the ground, stressing that the takeover by the inhabitants of Hadhramaut of the management of the affairs of their governorate is a settled question and meets no objection from the southern forces, explaining that the presence of the southern forces is part of the support for the population of the governorate and the coverage of large geographical areas.
