The Yemeni Bar Association condemned and denounced in the strongest terms the insults, insults and explicit verbal attacks that lawyer Salwa Adeeb Abdul Qadir Al-Qurashi, a member of the union, suffered while carrying out her professional duties on the campus of the South West Trial Court Secretariat and in one of the court rooms, in full view of those present.

The Union confirmed in a press release, Sunday December 14, 2025, that what happened constitutes a serious violation of the dignity and prestige of the profession, as well as a flagrant attack on one of the pillars of justice. She expressed her deep regret and denunciation of the shameful behavior and insulting remarks made by court employee Ghanem Saleh Al-Dhabani, which offend modesty and undermine human and professional dignity, and constitute an offense of public insult punishable by law.

The statement denounces the failure of Judge Salman Al-Rameem to fulfill his legal and judicial functions in terms of controlling the courtroom and protecting the lawyer in the exercise of his work, and even the issuance of actions and positions that constitute a violation of the duties of the judicial function, affect the impartiality and prestige of the judiciary and violate the texts of applicable laws as well as the customs and traditions of judicial work.

The Yemeni Bar Association stressed that the lawyer is an essential partner in obtaining justice and that his dignity is the dignity of the judiciary, stressing that any abuse against lawyers in the arenas of justice will not be met with silence or negligence, but rather will be fought by all legitimate legal and union means.

The union affirmed its categorical rejection of any insulting or abusive behavior against lawyers in the exercise of their professional duties, and expressed its full solidarity with lawyer Salwa Adeeb Abdul Qadir Al-Qurashi, as well as its legal and union support until she obtains justice.

The Union called on the relevant judicial authorities, led by the High Council of the Judiciary, to take the necessary legal measures regarding what happened and to hold accountable anyone proven to be involved or negligent, emphasizing the need to respect lawyers within the courts and ensure a safe environment that preserves their dignity and allows them to carry out their mission without intimidation or insult.

He stressed that he fully reserves the right to take all union and judicial measures that he deems appropriate with regard to the persons involved and to prevent such violations from recurring in the future, stressing that he will remain the bulwark protecting lawyers and defending their dignity, and will not allow the arenas of justice to be transformed into places of violation or insult towards colleagues in the profession.
